We perform non-invasive, visual examinations of accessible areas in your residential property. Our process is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components throughout your home. Our InterNACHI certified inspectors will utilize sophisticated equipment to conduct inspections of the following areas of the property:

  • Exterior: During a walk around of the exterior of the property, the inspector will inspect the exterior wall covering material, doors, walkways and driveways, stairs, patios/decks, windows, vegetation, and surface drainage and provide a description of the materials, areas in need of corrections, and issues that may adversely affect the structure due to moisture intrusion.
  • Basement, Foundation, Crawlspace and Structure: The foundation of the property will be inspected to identify possible issues with regards to water penetration, foundation movement, structural and occupant safety.
  • Heating: The inspector will identify the location and type of thermostat in the property as well as the energy source, heating method and investigate the heating system for operation and occupant safety.
  • Cooling: Similarly to the property’s heating system, the inspector will identify the location and type of thermostat in the property, cooling method and investigate the cooling system for operation and occupant safety.
  • Plumbing: The main water supply shut-off, water heating equipment, fixtures, toilets, sinks, tubs/showers, drain/waste/vent system, and visible piping will be inspected for deficiencies in flow, installation, functionality, damage, and occupant safety.
  • Electrical: The inspector will note the locations of the service drop/entrance, electric meter(s), panel boards and main disconnect, note the type of wiring observed and identify deficiencies with GFCI and AFCI protection, polarity, grounding and functionality/presents of smoke detectors.
  • Fireplace: The visible portions of the fireplace and chimney will be inspected for joint separation, hearth damage/deterioration, damper operation, and clean out location.
  • Attic, Insulation and Ventilation: The attic and other unfinished spaces will be inspected for absence of insulation and ventilation.
  • Doors, Windows and Interior: Operation of doors and windows will be investigated as well as possible areas in need of correction on floors, walls, ceilings, stairs and landings, and garage door operation and safety.

A detailed electronic report will be generated immediately following the inspection and provided to you through email within 24 hours of the inspection. Knowing that time is of the essence when customers request home inspections, our goal is to provide reports to the customer the day of the inspection. The inspection report provides detailed descriptions of all accessible areas mentioned above, accompanied by photos to help illustrate the exact location and issues discovered during the inspection.
